Cannabis Myth: More THC Gets You Higher

January 06, 2020  Written by Mitch Greene

Many users come to the dispensary and the first thing they ask is "which product has the highest THC!?" While THC is the psychoactive component in cannabis that can cause impairment, it doesn’t always equate to the best “high”. THC has actually been shown to be more effective when combined with various cannabinoids and terpenes. The combination of multiple cannabinoids and terpenes create what’s referred to as the entourage effect. All of these compounds work best when used together as nature intended. THC is also processed differently in the body when smoked versus consumed. There are so many variables that go into creating the best "high" and it's different for each and every individual. As always it is best to understand your goals with using cannabis in the first place. Experiment with different products, start with a low dose, and document your experience. Eventually you are likely to find something that works well for you!
