Cannabis Myth: Consuming Cannabis Kills Brain Cells

November 09, 2020  Written by David Melnick

We hear it over and over again - consuming cannabis kills brain cells. However, is this really the case? Yes and no.

Individuals who begin consuming cannabis at a young age while their brains are still developing (something we do not condone) may experience a slight decrease in IQ by the time they reach middle age. Alternatively, those who began consuming cannabis in their adulthood have not been known to show a loss in IQ.

It is also important to note that we are talking about the consumption of natural cannabis and not synthetic cannabis - a product that really is not good for anyone.
